What is Chain of Custody?
Every event in a pet's life — registration, ownership transfers, lost reports, reunions — is recorded as a tamper-proof, cryptographically chained record. Each event's unique hash includes the previous event's hash, creating an unbreakable chain. If any historical record were altered, every subsequent hash would break, making fraud immediately detectable. This is the same principle used in blockchain technology.
